As bullies taunt and threaten Davey, he retreats deeper into his journal. As illustrated throughout the book, this journal may also become the weapon of his undoing when both it and Graycloud go missing. At the end of a harrowing ordeal with the bullies, the veneer separating Davey's world from the magical kingdom begins to blur.
 

Pussy Boy is the first installment of a trilogy exploring Davey Myers and his mission to survive all the bullies and people in authority who would crush his spirit. Set in the 1960s and 70s in a decaying steel town in Western Pennsylvania, The Kingdom of Cats is at the intersection of fantasy and a classic coming of age story. For Davey Myers, it's not unlike his journey through the Kingdom: a little of both.
